Jordan Buys Joins Edelweiss UK
Edelweiss UK is pleased to announce the addition of Jordan Buys to its team of athlete’s with immediate effect. The new recruit is great news for Edelweiss UK who were keen to add the prolific young climber to its portfolio and join names such as Greg Boswell.
Buys has recently been grabbing headlines after being the first Brit to repeat Steve McClure’s 9a ascent of Rainshadow at Malham. Commenting on the achievement Jordan noted; “best climbing day of my life so far”. It’s been over a decade since Steve’s first ascent and since few climbers UK or otherwise have been serious about repeating the super route.
Commenting on the new relationship Buys says; "I would like to describe myself as someone who likes all aspects of climbing when its not raining and I have good sandwiches.
I'm really pleased to be teaming up with Edelweiss ropes, I feel this will allow me to push myself even further on the sharp end. The ropes feel super solid but yet handle incredibly well. From hard redpointing to quick headpointing and general onsighting I have felt really confident. So far this year has been a good one, Font 8B, French 9a and a few e7 flashes.
I am getting increasingly more pumped out of my mind on a rope and have big plans for the rest of the year.
Just need the weather to play ball hey!!"
Edelweiss are currently expanding it’s range of ropes, harnesses and accessories in the UK after forming a new relationship with distributors the Mountain Boot Company (MBC). With over 60 years of history Edelweiss produce an extensive rope collection for both the sport and professional markets. They were also the first brand to develop a rope with a sheath / core construction.
This Autumn Buys will also be featuring in a new advertising campaign from the brand using the eye catching pink Performance 9.2 rope.
Watch out for full profile on Jordan which will be going live soon.
